Hurricane Milton has affected many lives whether or not you live in Florida because of the massive destruction.

Many lives, that include animals and humans, have been lost and homes have been wrecked.

CBS News has reported that Hurricane Milton is a category 3 storm where at least 24 people have died with more tragedy likely to come.

The Weather Channel gives more details about how the storm is affecting lives reporting that there have been over 2.25 million power outages.

Some at Carson Senior High School are thinking about the difficulties that those living in Florida are facing.

“It might take months [to recover] because they would have to clean everything up, and they would need to fix everything up so they can feel safe again,” said CHS senior Miles Villanueva.

Villanueva and others understand that this hurricane will not be easy to recover from especially if it's a category 3 which means there will be 111-129 mph winds. With such winds, all houses, companies, and lives have the potential to be destroyed.

What can students and others interested in helping do?

Organizations like Florida Disaster are helping as they raised more than 15 million dollars after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Students can support their efforts.

There have been reports of people in Florida who are writing their own information about themselves on their arm just in case they get washed up and have no way to survive.
