Football games have been around for years at Carson High School. To many, this contact sport is the heart of school exemplifying Colt Love.
Dayton Nores, a senior at CHS who is on the varsity football team, stated, “I've gained friendships and brotherhood mostly from football and mainly just lifetime friends. I've gained football experience and exposure to things that can help me in the future.”
Nores has played football since his freshman year at CHS.
“When we go out there and just have fun, just a lot of energy is put out on the field. Everyone's personalities go well together and [we] just bond. That's my favorite part of our football games,” said Nores.
Ms. Robles, CHS student advisor stated, “I've worked here for about three years and attended my first football game in October of 2023.”
The October game captured the first win of the season for the Colts against Banning High School.
“It was fun. I enjoy football [because] it's one of my favorite sports. I enjoy the student sections; they bring the crowds to life and bring spirit into the school,” stated Ms. Robles
The bond that the team shares this year can be witnessed on the field on Friday nights.
The Colts have won 4 games so far including the homecoming match-up against rival San Pedro.
Future matches include the senior night game versus Gardena High School on Friday, October 18th at 7:30 PM
