The Carson High School tennis girls have been on a winning streak this season with a whopping 10 game winning streak and just 3 losses so far. Their hard work showcases their amazing talent and how much dedication they have for the sport.

“During a game, my main focus is to have fun. Of course, winning is a great feeling, but above all, I just want to stay positive, enjoy the moment, and play with a good mindset,” said CHS senior Zayda Cabatingan.

They are currently 2nd in the marine league with San Pedro being 1st. Their opponents include Narbonne, San Pedro, Banning and Rancho Dominguez high schools. Although they lost to San Pedro, they came back strong by winning two games after that, defeating Banning and Rancho Dominguez.

“Throughout the beginning of [the] games, I get a little bit nervous but once I understand how the other players play and I start playing, I feel relaxed and my head doesn’t overthink it,” said senior Arelin Garcia.

Just by looking at the team, you can tell that the girls have a lot of chemistry together and get along very well.

“I like my team. They are very cooperative, and they listen to me being their captain. We have a lot of fun together and are very close..we [have]...team bonding so I’m looking forward to that,” said CHS senior Christine De la Cruz.

This camaraderie will come in hand as they have the CIF LACS Singles and Doubles Championship coming up on November the 12th.

Overall, the team is doing really good this season showing off their amazing talent.
