Did you culminate 8th grade? Well these freshmen did! They are starting a new chapter in their life with Carson High. We took the time to interview a few freshmen on the first day of school. They went on to tell us about how nervous and their expectations versus realities were to start their high school journey.

We asked questions like did your first day go as expected? And what was your first class like? Did you feel prepared? And the most common answer we got was that they expected it to be more fun which was more of a predictable answer.

“I was really excited and looking forward to my first day of my freshman year but when the school day was over…. high school really wasn't what I expected” said Maui during her interview.

As her initial excitement for school began to fade and the school day concluded the reality began to set in for her. She told us how she felt somewhat prepared for her classes but a bit nervous to be around 2 times the people from middle school. Asking her about her peers in her classes, she told us all about the boys and how childish they were starting to act but boys are always going to be boys.

As a freshman you're transitioning into a different environment, and have to take the time to adapt to the new workload, tougher subjects, and longer days compared to middle school. Over time being able to adapt to new things will get much easier as you grow older, learn from past mistakes, and grow more experienced.
