This year’s Girls Tennis Team won their first game. The team has been practicing during the summer and nearly every day after school with the assistance of Coach Block.

Their hard work has paid off as they gained a huge victory.

The score on their first home game was nearly a tie, but at the end, the girls pulled through and won.

These girls also had a great first away game as they won 18 out of 19 of their games. They gave it their all and won.

This year's tennis team is very competitive, but they still stay humble.

They owe a huge thanks to their tennis coach, Coach Block who is also an English teacher at Carson High.

This year's team captain is Lily Aung-junior at the Academy of Medical Arts. This year, she is playing singles.

“Being this year's team captain, as a junior, has surely been a big responsibility, but [it is] definitely a fun experience,” said Lily.

Another tennis member, AMA junior Mckenna Kimbrough is excited about the season and the lessons that will be learned.

Mckenna said, “I think about it like a train going across all the rails, every different shift in the rails is a win or lose, but it doesn't stop. Instead, it takes us on a new journey.”

The entire varsity team includes these amazing members: Analyn Abuana (AMA), Lily Aung (AMA), Zayda Cabatingan (Carson High School), Karen Canela (CHS), Lovelyn Cave (AMA), Christine Dela Cruz (CHS), Hannah Galang (AMA), Kelly Go (AMA), Mckenna Kimbrough (AMA), Araday Sautia (CHS), Eva Yiadom (AMA).

This hardworking team is sure to impress the audience because of their drive and passion.
