New Year's resolutions are a very popular and well-known tradition globally. Some people find it easiest to set goals at the start of a new year. For them, the new year marks a clean slate to better themselves or their lives. Others, however, think that this tradition is a waste of time or that it never works.

In order to get a better idea of how students view the concept of New Year’s resolutions, the following questions were asked:

When asked about her opinion on New Year’s resolutions, Carson High School junior Natalia Ojeda said, “I think New Year’s resolutions are good pushes, but are not that effective.”

After being asked what her resolution for the New Year is, Carson High School senior Layla Ortega answered, “My resolution is to save and make money.”

While some people may not believe in New Year’s resolutions, or just believe that they aren’t an effective way to enforce a habit, others have decided to indulge in this tradition and make resolutions of their own.
