September 08, 2023 has been a long awaited date for Olivia Rodrigo’s fans. After months of anticipating the arrival of Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album GUTS, it is finally out and better than ever!

Rodrigo has scored her second No. 1 album after the release of GUTS. Her success is no surprise as she has been topping the charts ever since her first album Sour was released. It was thought that her second album wasn’t going to be nearly as good as her first album and that she had peaked as an artist. However, the critics were quickly proven wrong.

GUTS consists of 12 songs that are all currently listed in the Top 40 on Billboard and have been since her album came out. Her current No. 1 song on the Hot 100 Billboard is “Vampire”; her other single, “Bad Idea Right?” is now in the Top 10 listed as No. 7, while her new album as a whole is reaching the Billboard 200.

Olivia Rodrigo has had an eventful month and one can assume an eventful year is ahead of her as well. She is currently traveling while promoting her album and doing interviews. She is also announcing new and upcoming events that she will be having exclusively for her fans, and she has even announced a world tour!

Her album is getting a lot of attention from social media giant TikTok. So, it is no surprise that it is through this platform that her music is reaching new levels of popularity and reaching a new fan base.

Rodrigo has proven time and again that she is a beloved actress and artist. It is through her music that she ensures her voice is heard and that her fans feel seen.

“Her lyrics are so beautifully written. [… ] The lyrics connect to me, maybe I get a different perspective of the lyrics from how she intended the lyrics to be perceived [...] you can connect to it on your own level,” said Carson High School senior Sabraina Padilla.

From an early stage in her music career, fans have noticed the amount of attention to detail she gives to her lyrics and the story she tells through her music.

CHS senior Emory Light stated, “Her music connects with you as a teenager going through this society.”

Rodrigo’s music has connected her to her fans in many different ways. In her music, she covers what it's like to have insecurities in today's society, self-sabotaging, social standards for girls, peer pressure, and toxic love between friendships and relationships.

Olivia Rodrigo is an aspiring growing artist who has a great future ahead of her. With her new album out and her tour starting soon, it's an exhilarating time for Rodrigo’s fans.
