December is over, January has arrived, and there's nothing left to look forward to. No breaks until the spring.

However, that doesn't mean January is completely depressing. Astra Lumina is an immersive nightwalk being held at South Coast Botanic Garden still has dates left in January that you can go to.

Astra Lumina is a one hour experience in which you can walk through nine different star themes that allow you to immerse yourself with the starts with lights, sound, and projections.

For the average cost of $31.57 you can walk through the Astra Archway, Starlight Lanterns, Falling Stars, Stardust Rays, Celestial Trail, Steller Visions, Cosmic Choir, Astral Genesis, and Rise of Stars.

Each section is a unique experience that the website has advertised will allow you to connect with the stars befre the ascend back into the stars.

Many reviewers who have gone have said that this is a great experience. Parking is easy, staff is very welcoming, the whole experience is fun for families and couples. Overall this event is considered a must experience expense.

When asking around for opinions on whether or not this experience is worth it considering the prices, there have been some that didn’t agree with the great reviews.

“Personally I haven’t gone but the prices seem a little much for just one hour.” Eric Ramirez, a freshman in the Environmental Science Engineering and Technology pathway at Carson High School stated.

“I don’t think it’s all that worth it. It has cool lights and stuff but it seems like something you can just do at home or something.” Eric continued to say after being asked about the potential quality of the immersive lightshow.

On the website for this experience prices are discounted depending on who’s in your group. In every price there is a $3.09 booking fee added onto your initial ticket purchase.

For adults it’s $34.90, children tickets are $28.90, seniors or 65+ along with veterans and military members it’s $30.90.

The site also sells bundles for a cheaper price than the individuals if you’re going in a group. The family bundle which includes 3 tickets, max 2 adults costs $30.90 and a group bundle that has a minimum of eight people it’s $32.90.

As of now for January, dates include the 20st, the 22-25th, 29th, 30th, and 31st. All times are from 5:30 PM to their last booking time at 8:45PM.

Low availability days include the 22-25th dates. This means that on those days the experience won’t have as many tickets available for purchase.

So if you’re interested in this experience, feel free to book your tickets and head down to South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Blvd, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274 to cure your January blues.
