This is the first year that Carson High School has added a girls flag football team to the campus . The roster includes many athletes that play in a range of other sports and who have been practicing all summer long, showing their enthusiasm and dedication to the sport.

“I knew I wanted to join when I first heard about the team. I feel like our team is a good team for our first year, and I like how close we are,” said Aleila Moala.

The girls are already 2-3 right now, starting the season off well and playing hard, getting their head in the game. So far, they have played Redondo Union, Hamilton, Lawndale, Eagle Rock and Narbonne High School. They defeated Hamilton and Lawndale showcasing their immense talent.

“I like how we’re all competitive, and how we love to win but have fun at the same time,” said Ashannalee Titialii.

They also played Port of Los Angeles on September 30th resulting in a victory as well. Star players included Daihnay Fisher with 4 interceptions , Ashannalee Titialii with 2 touchdowns, and Genevieve Sandoval with 2 touchdowns.

Considering that this is their first official season, the girls are doing amazing so far. They are 477 in the national ranking and 315 in California ranking.

You can support the lady Colts by attending one of their games. The next matches include San Pedro, playing October 2nd, and Banning on October 7th. They also play View Park on October 10th.

The last games of the season include away matches against POLAH, Banning, Narbonne, and San Pedro High and many feel enthusiastic about the promise of the team.
