The Carson High football team has won their first football game! They defeated Paramount High School with a score of 38-0!
Lately, Carson hasn’t been their best, but with the positive mindset that they have, they were able to add a win to their record. The energy that the players and supporting squad brought was crucial in helping win this game. Carson’s side of the field had mascots, cheer, band, and drill team to help support them, along with the crowd.
A 10th grader from Academies of Education and Empowerment (AEE), Taelenuu Tuaau, shared, “No matter the outcome of each game, we keep our heads up and focus on trying to win our next game. Our team is competitive and doesn’t like to lose.”
Not only are the players competitive, but the audience is as well. You could definitely feel the tension in the stands while watching and hoping for your team to score a touchdown. “How you
practice is how you play”-this phrase has been heard from these football players and other
athletes because they understand the importance of it as they practice hard every day to become better.
Leland Connor, an 11th grade football player from Carson High School, stated, “We were all
happy for our first win of the season. Walking back to the locker room was an exciting feeling
that we all shared with one another.”
The start of the season for the CHS football team was a bit rough as you can see through
Maxpreps: they were on a 3-game losing streak. Yet, after this win, the football players were
very happy and excited. This game was a big accomplishment for the team and coaches.
The feeling that a major win gives cannot be understated.
“I haven’t felt this feeling in a while from these last couple games, and it was exciting,” said
CHS sophomore Zyra Puni.
The football team appreciates the support that CHS brings to these games. They love hearing the crowd cheer for them as they score a touchdown or make an amazing play.
Both athletes, Connor and Tuaau, also shared their future goals for the team, “We want to
continue with this momentum that we have created [in order] to win more games and improve both individually and as a team.”
