A new school year at CHS (Carson High School) is just the beginning. Our team is excited to welcome our latest students as well as teachers and staff!
This year we have a few new teachers and staff here at CHS. Just as it can be challenging for some students, it can also be tough for our new staff to adjust as well. Still, with challenges come new opportunities, and a remind that change can be positive.
Ms. Thackeray, who teaches 10th and 12th grade English as well as Yearbook says, "I like the community vibe at Carson, [I am] looking forward to doing my part in a new magnet, continuing to get to know the students [and] I'm excited to see how the year unfolds."
These new staff members come with enthusiasm, bringing in new approaches to teaching and learning. With new staff comes new perspectives and growth.
Mrs. Shoaff, who teachers 9th and 11th grade MEDiA Magent English and Journalism teacher cheerfully mentions, "Being able to meet new students, and [getting] to know Carson from a different perspective" is one of her expectations for this new school year.
While also incorporating new ideas into the school, staff are also learning new things themselves.
Mrs. Shoaff has learned that CHS is a welcoming community, she says "I grew up in Torrance so I knew of Carson didn't know how tight of a community it was, and it seems like a lot of people enjoy it here."
Ms. Thackeray adds, "I am appreciating the new personalities [and] students are welcoming."
Carson High School continues to prove itself a fun and safe place. Let's give them a warm welcome and a big thank you for joining us!
