The Menendez brothers have been incarcerated for nearly 35 years but may now have a second chance.

The Neflix Documentary highlighted the fact that "Lyle and Erik are currently serving life in prison without the chance of parole [for the] first-degree murder in 1996 of José and Kitty Menendez."

The highly awaited documentary about the Menendez brothers, convicted of murdering their parents in 1989, has had many anxiously awaiting its debut. Directed by Alejandro Hartmann, "The Menendez Brothers" offers a unique perspective on the infamous case, with the brothers themselves sharing their side of the story through audio interviews from prison.

Reactions to the documentary have been complex, with some viewers sympathizing with the brothers and others condemning their actions.

Nancy Flores, a junior at Carson High School said, "They didn't deserve to be in there that long."

On the other hand, Ayden Rodriguez , a freshman in the Academy of Education and Education, noted, "The documentary shows a light on the hardships of the case, but they did kill their parents."

This documentary explores the events leading up to the murders, the investigations, and the trials that followed.

Lyle and Erik Menendez, now in their 50s, currently stay at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego.

For those unfamiliar with the case, the Menendez brothers were convicted of murdering their parents, José and Kitty Menendez, in their Beverly Hills home. The brothers then claimed they acted in self-defense due to years of alleged abuse, but prosecutors argued the murders were premeditated and the brothers just wanted their parents' money. This case drew much media attention.

"The Menendez Brothers" documentary has renewed interest in the case, with many going to social media to share their thoughts. The film was one of the most-watched movies on Netflix, with 22.7 million views in its first week.
