The Carson boy's volleyball team is back for another season!
Last season the Carson High boys' volleyball repeated as Divison 1 Los Angeles City Section champions. The players made program history.
The guys went 8-2 throughout the Marine League season with two devastating losses against San Pedro and Narbonne High School.
The Narbonne game was a very hard loss for the program. The boys placed second in the Marine league while Narbonne placed first. Two rival teams going head to head to win the Marine League Championship title.
“We had our ups and downs, but we still pushed through and got the job done. We found our weaknesses that we can improve on for the upcoming season,” said Iakopo Manai, Junior at Academies of Education and Empowerment. “Last year we encountered a lot of mental challenges that we can overcome with better communication and understanding of one another”
The team had many ups and downs throughout the season. The players worked very hard their whole season and even made program history for volleyball.
“Winning the championship back-to-back felt great since we made history within the program,” said Derek Cadiz, a senior from the Academy of Medical Arts (AMA), “Our main goal is to shoot for open division and get that ring. We want to play with the top teams in the city and put Carson on the map!”
The boys are excited for their 2024 season. A new season means new opportunities.
The first league game is against Gardena at Carson High School on March 11, 2024. Junior varsity starts at 3 pm and Varsity starts at 4:30 pm.
