There is nothing better than stepping out onto that field and doing something no one thought you could do. Not many people that attend Carson High School, support our girls soccer team as much as any other sport. “It is important for us to make a name for ourselves because soccer never gets enough attention, and I think us doing good will show that we can be just as good as the other sports team” said Cristina Camacho, an 11th grader, from The Academy of Education of Empowerment. Girls on the soccer team had a very close relationship with one another as they finished off their season last year. That made it easier to work as a team this year pushing each other to their fullest potential. Every single day after school, they worked hard to see how the outcome will turn out to be. That outcome was making it to playoffs. Making it to the playoffs shows that all their hard work and dedication they put forth for this sport is not going to waste. Unlike other teams, their focus is not just to win. Their focus is to know that no matter what the outcome is, they know that they tried their best. They know that they put their best foot forward Carson High School’s senior Evelyn Gallegos stated, “ I’ve been a soccer player for 4 years. For the past 4 years, Carson High’s soccer team has had a tremendous growth. Now that we made the playoffs, it’s time to face a challenge during playoffs and overcome it.” Although playoffs is very nerve wracking, they hope this season will go further than any season they played before. Although the soccer team lost many seniors this season, they have gained a whole new group of talent. They are preparing themselves to face teams who are as good or maybe even better, but nothing will stop them from achieving their goal. Their goal is to go as far as they can with the amount of skills they have as the team. By the looks of their bond, this sport shows that it had brought many girls close together like family. Carson Senior High’s soccer team worked hard this season to have, so far, an overall score of 11 wins having 4 of those wins counted for league season. As they continue to be in the playoff, Carson High’s soccer team will continue to work hard to not only better themselves as individuals, but a team as well.
