Childhood fantasy classic Wrinkle in Time is back and better than ever. A wondrous tale that will make you reach for the edge of your seat. Not only does it portray strong, intelligent children but it also shows how incredible the universe is.
In the story, Meg is the daughter of a lost scientist who is worried about her father; she also has a brother Charles Wallace and mother Mrs. Murray. Their father’s disappearance was sudden. One word that explains everything is, “Tesseract.” Mr. Murray uncovered a transportation that potentially could transport him from one planet to another, and as a result, a darkness arose called “It.”
In order to save their father, Meg and Charles Wallace along with Meg’s classmate Calvin O’Keefe need to stay true to themselves and each other as they’re guided by the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. At the end, Meg found herself through the darkness which became light, and she and her brother were reunited with their father.
The movie was amazing, but it could have been a lot better. The talented and magnificent cast was not used to their best potential and the outcome was a big disappointment to some viewers. A Wrinkle in Time did not portray the movie as well as the book although each charater did truly channel their personality in the movie.
It received only 43% in rotten tomatoes and 3.7/10 on IMBD credits. The cast, once again, was amazing, but overall, the movie did not fully capture the audience.
