The Carson High School baseball team is looking forward to a great season. With an overall record of 10-17 and league record of 5-5 last year, the Colts expect to have a better season this year especially with new talent on the team. The baseball team was not pleased with their league record last year and hope to clinch a league title. They have new goals set and raised the bar high for themselves.
Captain JaJa Bellinger, junior from the Academies of Education and Empowerment, said, “As a team, we need to win league and try to make it to the the championship to have the opportunity to play at Dodger stadium.”
CHS senior Roberto Escobar said, “This season we expect to win Marine League [and have wanted this] since [our] freshman year.”
The boys season opener is on February 22nd against Paramount High School. They are expecting to start off the season right with a win, so make sure you go support.
“It’s exciting when people steal bases, and I like to see homeruns,” said baseball fan senior Noah Jackson of CHS.
Despite their losses last year, they are ready for a fresh start and are willing to give it their all to make sure they achieve their goal. These players are driven and very passionate about playing the sport of baseball. For the seniors, they are expecting to go all the way as they finish their last year playing high school baseball.
