On Friday the 13th, Carson High School played against San Pedro High School.
This was not just any game, but a game where all the alumni come back to watch their old high school play, Homecoming night.
San Pedro was so sure of winning the game that night, but the Carson Colts came through with the win.
Isaiah Atuatasi, junior at CHS, believes that they could have executed their plays better. “If we keep working hard we can strive to win the championship,” said Isaiah.
It has been a rough journey for Carson; the first few games of the season were rough, but with all of their hard work and dedication, they have shown everyone that Carson is a force to be reckoned with.
CHS junior Beijah Foisia, who attended the Carson vs. Pedro game, said she had a great time that night with friends.
“If Carson could play that well every game, or even better than that, [it] will help them in the long run,” said Beijah.
A key player of the game that night was CHS senior Dejonte Thomas. Dejonte scored three touchdowns and showed what he is capable of.
Before the game, Dejonte was filled with excitement and enthusiasm thanks to his teammates and friends. His motivation to play his best that night was to make his family proud.
Dejonte feels that “even though I don’t start in the game, I am going to do my job regardless.” The Colts will confidently take on historic rival the Banning Pilots in the last game of the season in November.
