The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, commonly referred to as Coachella or the Coachella Festival, is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. This year, Coachella will be held on April 12-14, and again on the 19-21. The lineup of artists and celebrities vary depending on the day its held, from popular artists to the not so popular ones. For example, Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, YG, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, etc.
There is no age requirement to attend, although people tend to camp out in tents during the event when they choose to stay various days to see different celebrities. If one chooses to camp out they’d have to be at least 18 years of age otherwise it wouldn’t be permitted. There are also travel packages and hotels one would be able to purchase online on their website. General admission would be a total of $429, their second option would be a general admission with a shuttle for transportation which would cost $509, and a last option would be the VIP wristband which is $999, how crazy is that.
“The lineup of artists that are performing this year makes me want to attend so bad, my favorite would be YG. It would make me so happy to see him perform live,” said Carson Senior High School junior, Margarita Rios.
Many students here at CHS are planning or wish to attend Coachella. They seem to be excited because of who is going to be performing this year.
“It was worth all my savings and hard work because I know even attending one day is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait to be there front and center and be surrounded by positive vibes,” said Academy of Medical Arts junior Monserat Felix.
“I’ll for sure be there, I really can’t wait. I know it’s gonna be so fun and worth it,” said Academies of Education and Empowerment senior Tiana Mertens.
The experience seems to have some of the students on the Carson complex anxious and excited to be there. Although some students can’t and wish to be there physically those who would’ve wanted to go will be there spiritually.
