Here at Carson High School we are honored to have Mr. Bravo who was recently awarded the Students Run LA (SRLA) Teacher of the Year award. Mr. Bravo was recognized for his leadership with the students across CHS.

“It was a total surprise. I wasn’t expecting it,” Mr. Bravo said when asked how it felt to receive the award.

“I had great teachers in high school. They helped me out a lot so I thought it’d be a great opportunity to pay it forward and help other kids too,” he later continued.

Omari Shirley, CHS sophomore and one of Mr. Bravo’s students said, “He is always encouraging me to keep pushing. SRLA has helped me stay positive and to come out of my shell more.”

Another student of Mr. Bravo’s, CHS senior Sergio Ramos stated, “Being in SRLA with Coach Bravo was really great. We had a lot of good times, especially this year.”

SRLA has given students here at CHS a chance to exceed their own expectations and conquer obstacles that they never thought they could. These students train hard with Coach Bravo and as a result, they complete long and hard marathons.

As you can see, no mistake was made here. Coach Bravo has done more than his part to make sure these students are not only learning, but having fun. Thank you Coach Bravo, our Teacher of The Year!
