Harvard University is an educational establishment located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is one of the top five universities in the entire world and consists of eleven principal academic units. Currently as of 2019, it stands with an acceptance rate of five percent and an early acceptance rate of fourteen point two percent, making it the second most selective college in the United States.

On Thursday, January 10th a Harvard representative visited Carson Complex in hopes to motivate young scholars to widen their horizons and allow them to acknowledge that they can apply to absolutely any school of their dreams.

“I felt a strong reason to advocate for the students in my own community before I went anywhere else. I wanted to make sure that they know that they can apply to Harvard if they want. It’s not the issue that people aren’t getting in, it’s that they aren’t applying,” said the Carson Resident whom represents Harvard University.

The four year university is quite large and offers many opportunities through each of it’s programs.

Although it is a predominantly Caucasian school, there is a percentage of international and other raced students. As of 2018, a little under 50 percent of the undergraduates at the institution are Caucasian, whilst the rest is a mixture of Asian, Hispanic/Latino, African American, and Native Hawaiian. Harvard also offers many athletic openings. It offers recreational fitness, intramural sports, club sports, and varsity sports. Although it does offer many athletic opportunities, Harvard is best known for its general majors such as sciences, mathematical, and history majors.

“I just wanted to make it clear that you can apply. Do not be discouraged,” the visitor eagerly made her inspirational conclusion.
