Jonas Brothers Reunited

Updated: Oct 16, 2020

By Katelyn Castanon – Staff Writer

They announced their split in October 2013, cancelling a 19-date tour just a couple of days before the first show. The brothers made an appearance on Good Morning America to publicly explain their split, which ultimately seemed to be the best decision for their relationships.

The American pop rock trio, The Jonas Brothers, who rose to fame in the mid-2000s mainly through their Disney Channel work, have finally come back together! On February 28th, the 3 brothers had posted on their Instagram accounts, the cover art for their debut song ‘Sucker’, with the caption “Midnight ET #Sucker @jonasbrothers”. Many Twitter users have noticed that the brothers have possibly reactivated their Instagram account after five years, but some insist the account has been active the entire time. The Jonas Brothers have been thinking about reuniting since working on forthcoming documentary set to look back on their golden age, solo careers, and reunion. Fans will be able to see them back on their screens on Amazon Prime Video soon enough!

Cathy Lara, Global Business Law and Government senior, stated, ““ I’m genuinely excited that the boys are back together! I hope they go on tour because I never got the chance to see them live as a kid so it would be a dream come true. I’m also looking forward to the documentary that will be released soon.”

The Jonas Brothers’ new single “Sucker” automatically got its spot on the Hot 100 songs chart at No. 1, becoming the 34th track to open at the top in its 50 year history. In addition to topping the charts, the song has received praise from critics all over. Billboard called the song “a banger,” while Esquire said it was “an impeccably sweet-and-sour pop rock-tune.” The song has been celebrated by fans, rejoiced to see them back together again.

Kiersten Fernandez, Academy of Medical Arts senior, said, “I expect the Jonas Brothers to go on tour after their big debut. We have waited so long and their announcement was so unexpected! My favorite songs when they were younger were “Lovebug”, “SOS” and “Burning Up”. I like their new song “Sucker”, it’s a little different from their early 2000’s pop punk sound. With their comeback I expect world peace.”

Coming back after 6 years has definitely woke up a storm of boy-crazed fans from their sleep. After releasing their new hit song “Sucker”, Jonatics can’t wait to see what else is in store.
