Lego Movie 2

The sequel to the first LEGO movie, Lego movie 2 , yells kiddy excitement, legos, and catchy songs. This sequel has been long anticipated with a 5 year waiting period, the movie came out on February 8th but, luckily it was worth it. The director Mike Mitchell did not disappoint and brought us this excellent experience in all AMC theaters. The sequel reunites the heroes of bricksburg in an action packed apocalyptic destination with everyone’s favorite master builder Emmet Brickowski (the main character played by Chris Pratt) he’s still singing songs and living everyday as awesome, even after the town was destroyed in the previous movie. He still has his optimistic view and his girlfriend Lucy (Elizabeth Banks) which also makes her reappearance in the movie now being the leader of the group of master builders. The group takes its adventure across the universe and fights with a Queen named Watevra Wa’nabi and some vicious velociraptors. The movie attracts a more younger audience. Altogether the new LEGO 2 movie is a moderately entertaining but overlong film that emphasizes visual “razzle dazzle” over narrative backbone ( it jumps from musicals to story to more musicals followed by some action). It’s funny at times the audience often caught themselves laughing at the corny jokes of Chris Pratt or Emmet but, this brand of cleverness has lost its freshness over recent years due to its frequent and over used forms of jokes, Kids will enjoy the film more than adults. It really is a treat for the Lego fans. The childhood upbringing some people had with the Lego toys will attract people to watch this movie. But besides that it’s enough action and singing to keep viewers from zoning out or falling asleep (most of the time). The movie is a ⅗ but is still recommended, you should give it a watch if your bored and want some Lego action along with some laughs.
