After a very successful season the Carson High School’s boys soccer team won the Marine League Championship for the first time in Carson history! The Colts defeated Narbonne with a score of 3-1.

Academies of Education and Empowerment Senior captain Lino Garcia said, “It was really for us in the beginning of the season. Conditioning was one of the main things we needed to work on. Throughout the season we worked really hard and just pushed ourselves to our limits. During the season my team and I had to stay locked in, compete, and just play every game as if it was our last. We had our hearts set and our minds locked on winning and that’s why we became Marine League Champs.”

“The pressure of knowing that if we lost we’d be like any of the previous teams was all that was running through my mind throughout the game. We all knew that if we won we’d be the first to do it, and that was the main goal, to become the first colts to become Marine League Champions. This season we started earlier than we did last year, we’re more conditioned and disciplined and these are some of the main reasons why we won. We beat bonne and became the first colts to ever do it,” Romario Jimenez, senior from AEE stated.

“This victory felt great especially because we made history. My team was the first team ever to become Marine League Champions. Even though we lost, I’m still very proud.” stated Academies of Education and Empowerment senior Angel Ambrosio. “During season I suffered an injury so I had to support my team from the sideline for a while, but the good thing is that we did it and I always supported them throughout the season.”

CHS boys soccer program improved tremendously throughout the years. This past season was one of the most successful seasons that the Colts had in awhile.

AEE Junior Joseph Milano added, “I felt like this season was a great stepping stone for Carson soccer because it was a good season throughout the whole year. The soccer program has improved well throughout my high school years. Freshman year they were division 5. This year we were in division 2. We also beat banning and Narbonne for the first time in awhile.”

To end their season, CHS boys soccer had an overall record of 11 wins, 4 losses and 5 ties, and with a Marine League record of 7 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties.
