Rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion have officially reawoken rap beef.
On January 26th, Megan Thee Stallion released her latest single titled “Hiss” in which she throws shots at many people she has had beef with in the past.
The feud began over a bar in Megan's song, in which Nicki seemingly took it as a hit. Megan raps “These h – – s don’t be mad at Megan, these h – – s mad at Megan’s Law/I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.”
Megan’s Law refers to the federal law that makes information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders. Fans suspected this was a direct jab at Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 and received a three-year probation sentence in July 2022 after failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020.
Just a day after its release, Minaj, infuriated by the song “Hiss” took to X, previously known as Twitter, and went on a rant over the things Megan has done and lied about. Following, she also released a single titled “Big Foot”.
In this song Nicki repeatedly raps “Lyin’ on your dead mama, on-on your dead mama,” which refers to Megan’s late mother, who died in March 2019.
Nicki also adds “The b-tch fell off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot,'” referring to Megan being shot in the foot by rapper Tory Lanez.
Many fans across platforms have shared their opinions with some siding with Nicki and others siding with Megan.
Carson High School Junior, Tai stated “Im sorry Meg won this one” and further stated “Nicki is just too D*mn old to be acting like this”.
Fans have even started rumors about both rappers stating that they have been doing dr*gs.
CHS Senior, Siam Ramirez stated “I hate that they're tryna say Nicki is doing coke just because she's defending herself like i would be acting the same”.
Megan has yet to respond to Nicki, leaving Nicki with the final word, and as of now both rappers have not acknowledged each other.
