R&B star R.Kelly has been recently receiving a lot of hate and backlash due to the fact that years ago he sexually and physically abused multiple women and underaged females. Even though it was years ago, some of the women are starting to speak up and speak out about what he had done to them. Even though the victims are speaking up now, something should have been done sooner.

Carson High School Senior, Vanesha Polidore stated, “I think they should’ve said something before instead of now after all these years. Maybe if they would’ve spoke up, then the situation would have been dealt with sooner.”

Many of R.Kelly’s ex fans do not realize that he is not the only one at fault for what he has done. His actions were very wrong and inappropriate but, many of them are not looking at the victims. Most of the time, there are two sides to a story.

“Honestly everyone was wrong in the situation because they all knew what they were doing. They all knew from right to wrong in this situation.” Polidore continued on. Looking at the situation, R.Kelly, his producers, the women, and the underaged female’s parents are all at fault, they all played a type of role in the situation.

R.Kelly is a powerful artist, but what he have done is not acceptable in any type of way or form. An incident such as this one shouldn’t be ignored at all.

“I think Kelly made some horrible choices, and the people involved should be held accountable and he should have some type of punishment for his decisions. I think that if the people involved would’ve spoke up, then the issue would have been resolved sooner and he would’ve been dealt with sooner.” Academy of Education and Empowerment Administrator, Ms.Morre stated.

Seeing the fact that nothing huge has been happening due to his actions could honestly be because he is one of the top-selling recording artists of all time and his producers do not want his business to go left.

“I feel like he got away with it because of power. I think he is responsible with his fetish. The issue isn’t being resolve and he needs to serve time for it.” Carson High School Senior, Miry Delgadillo stated.

Any victim from sexual abuse or physical abuse should always speak up no matter the race, gender, shape or form of their abuser. Sometimes when you speak up later than sooner then it becomes too late for anything to be solved.
