To start off the new year of 2023, Ginny and Georgia season two aired on Netflix with 10 new episodes to enjoy. This comedy-drama based Netflix series was first released in February of 2021 and was created by Sarah Lampert.
Brianne Howey, who portrays Georgia Miller, is a 33-year-old actress born in Los Angeles, California. You may recognize her from other movies such as The Exorcist or The Passage. Antonia Gentry, who portrays Virginia Miller (Ginny), is a 25-year-old actress born in Atlanta, Georgia. She is best known for her role in Ginny and Georgia.
If you don’t know the hype behind the Netflix hit, Ginny is a 15-year-old high school student that feels as if she may be more mature than her 30-year-old mother, Georgia. Although Georgia doesn’t show much maturity, she is determined to provide a better childhood for her daughter and son Austin.
Season two brought much more teen drama and fans enjoyed the questionable parenting moments.
“I was really looking forward to this upcoming season [of Ginny and Georgia]. There was definitely a lot more drama compared to the first season,” said Carson High School senior Laylah Washington. “The end of season two left me on a cliff hanger.”
This series has drawn some comparisons with another Netflix series, “Gilmore Girls.” Ginny and Georgia seem to be much messier than that. Ginny and Georgia has a lot of mature themes throughout the seasons and episodes.
CHS freshman Ashannalee Titialii stated, “This Netflix series [Ginny and Georgia] does show the real-life situations that most teenagers go through unfortunately. Some teens who relate to similar problems as her [Ginny] could realize that they need help and support.”
This series is rated TV-14, as teens are better equipped to handle certain scenes and situations that are presented in the series. Ginny and Georgia is more of a coming-of-age kind of drama but comedy and serious moments are also mixed in there. Ginny and Georgia received an audience rating of 4.2 stars out of 5. It seems many people would recommend watching it.
