The Awakening

Carson High School football is back in effect, starting with a few minor setbacks, for a major comeback this season. The Colts titled this season “The Awakening” so we can suddenly be aware of what they have in store for us. They started with the slogan “ Make Carson Great Again”, and it has made an impact by helping the students have more school spirit; it makes them look forward to the rest of the season.

They have not only changed the students mentality but have also helped increase enrollment with 17 transfers alone thanks to the football team. Although this may be bittersweet because we may have a slow start due to the CIF rule which makes transferred athletes sit out the first five games.

A senior transfer from CHS, Mark Tuufuli, stated, “I feel like this season is going to be a great season… It hurts to sit out and the hardest part is watching my brothers go to war without me.”

Tristan Anesi CHS senior said, “A lot of the change is thanks to Coach Ale. He’s been working hard to give the players what they deserve. I was going to transfer until Coach Ale got the job because my dad and Coach Ale have known each other for a while.”

Keep in mind that it’s not how you start the season, but ultimately, how you finish it.

Dejonte Thomas, CHS senior confidently said, “Don’t expect a 4-6 record like last year. It is very foul how our transfers have to sit out, but transfers from Narbonne get to play the whole season.”

Although we have these set backs, come support your Colts and join the movement to be awakened.

“Coach Ale works so hard for our team in part because he is an alumni and knows the true meaning of Colt Love,” said Tristan.
