The Best of the Best!

Updated: Oct 17, 2020

by Vivianna Ambriz // Staff Writer

The 2017-18 staff writers and editors for Carson Complex’s Trailblazer worked really hard to make each month’s newspaper a better and more cohesive product than the last. All of our staff writers have shared outstanding work through creativity and fluidity in their writing, which didn’t go unnoticed by the editors. To be a great writer, you have to relate to your audience and make your stories interesting for everyone to read. Although there were many students who wrote great articles each month, there were a few who stood out. Those students were seniors Ryan Bada (Technology and Advertising editor), Edgerrin Panaligan (Op/Ed editor), Jeffrey Escano, and Breana Perez. Many would agree that they were excellent. Without a doubt, they shined every month.

Co-editor-in-chief and News editor Angela Poblano said, “They are all phenomenal writers; they deliver on time and they each have their own style of writing. They go beyond what is expected of them and don’t hesitate to have their voices heard.”

Features Editor Soleil Gomez said, “They all give strong evidence and explanations towards the topics of their stories and do an outstanding job in doing so. They also go into depth with their stories and go above and beyond to dig deep, giving the readers an interesting and captivating read.”

All these students will go down as the top writers for the 2017-18 year! They deserve not only the recognition from the editors and the other staff writers but from the entire Carson Complex for their outstanding writing. These writers brought a unique twist to their stories and made it impossible not to read it word for word. They understand what it takes to be an excellent and professional journalist as shown through their contributions to the newspaper. They should feel very proud of themselves and what they’ve achieved. Their futures hold endless possibilities, and all plan to major or minor in a field related to writing after high school.
