Moscow, ID-The Idaho murders shook the entire state and the nation. The victims’ family were left heartbroken with an unfillable void.
This event took place in Idaho in the students' home. The victims returned from a party around 2 AM and there was no sign of forced entry by the perpetrator.
This led to speculation that the man who committed the crime had planned it.
There have been additional reports showing video evidence of a man who had been driving by the house continuously for months. This man was also a recent criminology student and was said to be conducting an experiment regarding the mentality of those who commit the crime.
Background information collected about the accused, Bryan Kohberger, had mental health issues and was bullied during high school. Documents from 2009 showed that he was having problems with his mental health. He reportedly said many disturbing things and believed that he could get away with everything.
As stated on BBC news, his arrest happened on the same day as the memorial service that was held for some of the students that were murdered.
Some of the family members did speak out regarding the incident.
The family of Ethan Chapin was reportedly “relieved this chapter is over because it provides a form of closure.”
Carson High alumni and KXLY Channel 4 Breaking News anchor and reporter Sydney Charles gave further insight into the families of the victims.
“The family of Kaylee Goncalves wants Kohberger to serve the death penalty. They are very saddened by her death. In our latest special, the dad of Madison Mogen, who calls her Maddie [said that the incident] hit him and their family very hard,” said Charles. “We haven't heard much from Ethan Chapin’s family. What we do know is that he was a triplet and that his mother is going to drop off his siblings off at school in order for them to continue their classes.”
Many have praised the efforts of the Moscow Police Department for their handling of the case.
