The Dream Since 88′

11-1, not a score that would leave a team with much doubt. The LA Dodgers have finally made it to the World Series and left their mark after defeating the Cubs by a large margin. It seems that it didn’t take much and wouldn’t be hard for them to take on the Astros in the 2017 World Series. The Dodgers have been in a World Series drought for 29 years, and this was a great opportunity for the Dodgers to put LA back on the map and to regain hope.

The team has came a long way, leaving the city of LA with high expectations.

Stage Tech teacher Mrs. Kadota from Carson High School explained the expectations that she had for the baseball team.

“We expect [a lot from] their team because they’re young [and can] grow, and get better and better,” explained Mrs. Kadota.

Mrs. Kadota expressed her support regardless of if they win or lose because they will still be a great team in the future due to the youth of the team.

Erik Herrera, Academies of Education and Empowerment senior, explained that he “expects the Dodgers to make it to the playoffs next year, and to bring [us] back to the World Series.”

CHS Assistant Principal Dr. Uzor explained that the Dodgers performance will benefit some of us living in California.

“Directly, or indirectly, somehow it’s going to benefit somebody around here in California,” said Mrs. Kadota.

As you can see, the bar is set high for our LA Dodgers even though they lost in the World Series.

After all, making it this far is impressive to most of their fans.
