As you may now know, two Colombian Artists’ Karol G and Shakira have released a song together. The song's name is “TQG”, the abbreviation for Te Quede Grande. "Te Quede Grande” translates to ‘I’m out of your league’ and it is a phrase used in Shakira’s Music Session with Bizzarap, Vol. 53. In the song, Shakira refers to her ex-husband, Pique, and his new Girlfriend, Clara.
Karol G has also recently launched her new album “Manana Sera Bonito”-Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful- in which she did a collaboration with Shakira. The Colombians say they both had similar experiences with their exes Anuel and Pique. The song mentions how they were both replaced with a new girl. “Dile a tu nueva bebe, que por hombres no compito” translating to “Tell your new babe, that over a man, I don’t compete”.
Many say that they should both get over their past and focus on making music about their future. Karol G says every song she writes has a meaning about a stage in her life and that TQG was a song which she, Shakira, and fans will be able to identify themselves with and it's not just a song to throw shade.
“It is a pretty good song. It’s my top #1 song that I like to get down to right now. I feel very empowered when listening to TQG,” said Carson High senior Julissa Padilla. “It was definitely a hit, and I think they should make more music together.”
CHS senior Jaysen Rodriguez said, “I don’t really listen to Karol G nor Shakira, but I have seen the song blow up, and it’s all over social media including Tik Tok.”
