The Carson High School Senior Council has decided on something different for the seniors this year. As the upperclassmen worked on their PSATs, seniors were required to meet up at the school’s gym for the Senior Getaway.
The Senior Getaway is exclusive and saved for seniors and included games, activities, and a movie. It was recommended that they wear Halloween costumes and join the rest of the seniors in the gym to enjoy activities.
However, the Senior Getaway this year was different from what some were expecting.
Most were expecting the activity to take place outside of the school rather than inside the gym.
However, time and accuracy played a big role in the ultimate decision.
Ms. Hart, head of CHS’s Senior Council claimed, “We first planned to go off campus, but time is of the essence.”
Games like basketball, finishing the lyrics, and Hungry Hippo were played. And in the other gym on campus, the movie “Coraline” was played for those who would rather sit and relax and maybe enjoy a little snack.
Students helped to make the event a success by putting up some decorations including bright orange spider webs as well as balloons to put some Halloween spirit in the room.
Ms. Robles, Co-Head of CHS’s Senior Council said, “We want people to help and participate.”
Overall, this year’s senior getaway was fun. It was a great way to gather the seniors and bond on a free day. Hopefully, sometime in the future, something like this will bring the seniors together again, maybe even a more exciting and interactive experience.
