The beloved actor Robbie Coltrane passed away on October 14, 2022. Coltrane played in many successful series that made his audience fall for him. He had a bubbly, loving, and joyful personality as well as some amazing acting skills.
Coltrane was most famously known for his role in the successful series, Harry Potter. In this role, he played a kind-hearted 8 ft, gentle giant. He was portrayed as tender and caring which was not far from his real life personality.
Outside of his career, he was constantly caring towards others. During the filming of Harry Potter, he was surrounded by many young actors. He watched them grow into adults during the filming of these movies. As they filmed the first couple of movies, he was described, according to several outlets, as someone they could go to uplift their spirits and shake their nerves due to their first time filming, meaning that he provided them with comfort in this intimidating atmosphere. Reports also say that he was always giving his co-stars a good laugh and remembered as being another parental figure in the young actors’ lives.
Coltrane continued his acting career and acted in many other movies outside of Harry Potter including films such as Golden Eye, Cracker, and Ocean’s Twelve.
Later in his life, he was diagnosed with osteoporosis which is a type of joint disease. This disease reportedly affects 1 out of 7 Americans, and unfortunately, Coltrane was one of the unlucky ones; this illness is what led to the actor’s death.
Many of his fans were unaware of his sickness which made his death even more tragic.
Though his death was unfortunate and untimely, many fans are glad that he is no longer suffering or in pain. He left this world with a legacy and lived an adventurous life. He will truly be missed by those he has impacted during his lifetime. His memory also continues to live within his daughter Alice McMillan.
Ultimately, fans find comfort in the fact that he was able to share his gift and laughter with the world. Though he has passed, fans and family members continue to celebrate his life and accomplishments and ensure that he is not forgotten by those that he loved.
