Chaos has been occurring at Sephora. As time goes by, children, most under the age of 12, have been crowding the Sephora stores, trying to look for their desired product(s). These products range from skincare- like glow recipe toners, The Ordinary serums, polypeptide cream and makeup other products- like White Elephant.

Sephora should not be a place for young children because makeup is something they should not be worrying about, reported CBC News

Additionally, many products at Sephora are expensive and overpriced.

Previously, children around that age were playing with toys or playing games outside, but children today can be found in makeup stores, trying to follow trends. They believe it’s the new “cool” as they follow up with what is currently going viral.

Carson High School senior Salma Munoz stated, “[I’ve been] seeing videos about it… “[there was] a video of a guy trying to buy a serum and a little girl walks up to him to tell him it was the last serum and mentions that he is a GUY and doesn’t need it.”

TikTok videos have made the discussion go viral. Many point out that this trend amongst tween is disappointing. Young people arguing over the last of  a product that they don’t need makes people angry.

One solution would be to require that the kids be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

CHS senior Kaylee Zaragoza stated, “I think those children should be accompanied by an adult.”

Open communication where parents look out and speak to their kids about this problem more often would also help.
